This superb example of engineering oozed quality. What's more, it came ready assembled, with locks to hold cycle to carrier and carrier to roof bars, and being aluminium weighed only 3kg. The clamp was reassuringly simple to adjust as well as being coated with rubber to protect the bike. All fittings were the quick-release variety and three plastic tethers held things in place.
